The tonality, the slight curl of the feet as if in pain, and the pitch black background are all beautiful details that help make the picture. To be a good photographer is to approach the subject with an eye for the small detail, which is clearly shown here. While the macabre is definitely not a new subject (particularly at Deviantart), it is shown here in a refreshing new viewpoint by emphasizing starkness, minimalism, and simplicity rather than over the top as often seen. In general, this picture shows someone who understands fine technique and control with their photography.

Also, the slight blur of the feet as if twitching blew me away.
